"A lot of it is taking something that you see and then composing something around it that often has nothing to do with it. A phrase or word comes and sounds like a good part and you go with it, frequently with surprises."
Don't expect anything but faves from the first two albums on this tour. Turner says there are only really two new tunes from the third Arctic Monkeys album turning up this go-around. He's not stressing about getting more new material out to an ever-increasing audience familiar with the existing tracks. The pressure is not on since the sales remain strong.
"The third album isn't due until next May or so and I've got the side project EP coming out in November from that two-week session in France with a possible full album with Miles coming after that. All told, it's been racing by so fast for the past few years without any breaks, but you learn to deal with it. I haven't been home for awhile, save a few days maybe, in a few years. I'm quite in for a bit of time there after this tour finishes."
